Grilled Trout is delicious and makes for a hearty yet light dinner. Cooking the whole fish will save money and will make for a very impressive presentation. There is no reason to be intimidated : )
If you happened to have extra trout, Check out the quick and easy recipe to "upcycle" your trout. Our tasty result is featured in the photo above. I like to treat it like a tuna salad and it is so delicious on a warm, toasted bagel. When you have leftover trout, use a fork to flake off remaining fish and fold in the following ingredients:
For every cup of trout:
2 tablespoons of chopped white onion
2 tablespoons of chopped pickle
A pinch more salt, smoked paprika and chili powder
Ingredients
- 4 medium size Trout
- 1/2 Tablespoon Salt
- 1 Teaspoon Chili Powder
- 1 Teaspoon Smoked Paprika
- 1 Tablespoon pressed Garlic
- 1 Large sliced Lemon
- Herbs of your choice, we used thyme
Instructions
- Rub the Trout with the herbs and spices, add lemon, and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side on a grill or grill pan.
