Grilled Trout is delicious and makes for a hearty yet light dinner. Cooking the whole fish will save money and will make for a very impressive presentation. There is no reason to be intimidated : )

If you happened to have extra trout, Check out the quick and easy recipe to "upcycle" your trout. Our tasty result is featured in the photo above. I like to treat it like a tuna salad and it is so delicious on a warm, toasted bagel. When you have leftover trout, use a fork to flake off remaining fish and fold in the following ingredients:

For every cup of trout:

2 tablespoons of chopped white onion

2 tablespoons of chopped pickle

A pinch more salt, smoked paprika and chili powder

  • 4 medium size Trout
  • 1/2 Tablespoon Salt
  • 1 Teaspoon Chili Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Smoked Paprika
  • 1 Tablespoon pressed Garlic
  • 1 Large sliced Lemon
  • Herbs of your choice, we used thyme

  1. Rub the Trout with the herbs and spices, add lemon, and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side on a grill or grill pan.
