Farmer's Cheese Cakes
Hello, beauties! Do not be intimidated by the thought of making cheese at home. There are only a couple ingredients and does not require rennet so it's great for beginners. This recipe is a quick, easy, delicious and provides lots of vitamins for growing kids and adults alike. Mild cheeses are more appetizing to kids and Benji had fun making the cheese cakes this time around!
Ingredients
- 1 Cup Farmer's Cheese (boil buttermilk for 10 minutes, reduce heat for 5 minutes after you see the cheese forming around the edges of the pan. Strain in cheesecloth and you are ready to use the farmer's cheese).
- 1 Egg
- 1/4 Cup Raisins
- 2 Tablespoons Whole Wheat Flour
- 2 Teaspoons Honey
- 1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla
- Pinch of Salt
Instructions
- Mix all ingredients together and make flat cakes.
- Pan fry cakes and serve with herb garnish, fresh fruit or eat plain!
