Apricot Infused Bourbon

Infusing alcohol is a Russian tradition and is nostalgic for me. I spotted a bag of beautiful apricots and decided to infuse my favorite Bourbon, Bulliet, with them and oh my, what a wonderful combination! Homemade infused liquors make for great gifts and are very versatile. Feel free to add fresh herbs, spices, cucumber to vodka, root vegetables, or even spicy peppers for a real kick.

Ingredients

  • 1 Pound of Apricots
  • About 2.5 Cups of your favorite Bourbon
  • 2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
  • 1 Large Mason Jar

Instructions

  1. Fill jar with halved Apricots then add Brown Sugar.
  2. Fill jar with Bourbon. Add herbs or other ingredients to infuse (optional).
  3. Tightly close lid and shake, shake, shake.
  4. Leave jar on counter for a week or as long as you can restrain yourself - It only gets better with age.
